Baby Shower for Roxy Ray

Today was the Baby Shower for Roxanne Ray Medrano! Emily had such a great time opening gifts for her sister! We had cake and played games. It was a really great time. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it. We really appreciate sharing this special day with you. Sorry we missed the ones that were unable to make it. We are getting so excited to bring Roxy home! We can't wait to meet her. Emily will fight with Joe saying Roxy is "HERS!"

The baby stuff is all working together so nicely. We have so many of the things that we need now! We just have to pick up some odds and ends and everything will be set!

Doctor Appt/Emily Potty Trained

Well, today we had a Doctor's appt for Roxy. When we first got to the appt we found out we would no longer be able to see our Doctor that we have been seeing throughout our pregnancy... the reason, she found out she has cancer and will be getting treatment for the next 6-9 months. Please keep her in your prayers, she is a very nice lady!

However, after seeing the doctor that was going to be working in her place we found out "NO MORE BED RESTING!!!!" We are very excited to be 36 weeks pregnant tomorrow. The doctor said she would be happy to deli ever the baby anytime I went into labor now. I hope it is soon!

Emily is getting excited to meet her sister. She's helped me pick out clothes and toys, and in fact... I think Roxy coming so soon helped Emily potty train. Emily knows diapers are for babies and she doesn't want to be a baby anymore. It was like all of a sudden she knew to start wearing panties and use to the big potty!!

Today was a GREAT day for our family!!

Swim Time with Emily

As you can see Emily has become quite the little swimmer! She has gone from not even wanting to get on the steps this year to swimming all over the pool with her Dora tube on. Everyday Emily asks about going swimming. We had some fun family time out by the pool this weekend. Emily keeps telling me she can’t wait for Roxy to get her so she can go swimming with her sister. I think we are all getting excited about Roxy getting here. We got Roxy’s crib put together. I am so thankful for Craigslist! I’ll attach some pictures of it also.

First Post 8.3.09

Since this is our first post I thought I would start by saying in May this year Joe and I got married in Las Vegas. We are having a baby, Roxanne (Roxy) Ray Medrano, due on September 19, 2009, which also happens to be Joe's birthday. Emily is also growing, she has been getting so big! She will be 3 on October 14th this year. She is very happy! She goes to daycare everyday and spends a lot of time swimming, and watching Dora or Little Einsteins. Right now, we are working on potty training, and wow, I never knew how hard that could be, but she is trying really hard.

We'll keep you updated on Roxy. I am currently on bed rest due to early contractions. It kind of reminds me of the end of my pregnancy with Emily. We will see how this one goes though. I just need to make it past 36 weeks, which is Aug 22nd.
